  • Start by measuring the tub's dimensions and construct a frame for either side of the

    undermount tub that won't be resting against the wall. Use an upright 2 x 4 lumber to create wall sections and create equal-length plates for both the bottom and the top. The wall section height can be set as the length between the tub's top and the sub-floor.

  • Take two lumber pieces and place them side by side. Cut out 2 x4 inch studs and keep them on the boards with 16 inches between either plate, and secure the two sections with the help of 3-inch screws. You can attach the section frames onto the flooring and wall with the help of screws or adhesive.
  • Install drain assembly as specified by the manufacturer. Install bathtub legs in the enclosure, and use shims to ensure that it's leveled. Secure the tub in place with the help of mortar, and link the tail pipe and the trap.
